Egyptian College Students Arrested in South Carolina Indicted on Terrorism Charges

The two Egyptian college students who were charged with having a pipe bomb in South Carolina just under a month ago have been indicted on terrorism charges.
Both face indictments for carrying explosive materials across state lines, which carries a 10-year prison sentence.
Ahmed Abdellatif Sherif Mohamed, 24, also faces terrorism charges for teaching and demonstrating how to use the explosives in a violent manner and for distributing information relating to explosives, destructive devices, and weapons of mass destruction, according to an official at the Justice Department.
The indictments come after a traffic stop of Mohamed and Youssef Sherif Mohamad, 21, on August 4, 2007 in Goose Creek, South Carolina turned up a pipe bomb. The two men were stopped near a Navy base where enemy combatants have been held.
United States Attorney Reggie Lloyd has praised both state and federal authorities for cooperating and participating in the joint investigation investigation.
