Make sure you look at the product code on the jar of peanut butter on your shelf. If it begins with "2111" take it back to the grocery store for a refund. Salmonella has been found in the Peter Pan brand. I read about this peanut butter recall earlier in the week and did not think much about it until I looked in our cabnet at home and a jar with"2111".

DHEC urges people who have symptoms commonly associated with salmonella illness, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or fever and who have eaten from the affected lot of peanut butter, to see their medical practitioner.

If you have Peter Pan or Great Value peanut butter beginning with product code 2111, do not eat it;
If you have eaten this product and it has been longer than 72 hours and you have not had any symptoms, throw the product away; If it has been fewer than 72 hours, retain the jar, but do not eat from it; and if you develop any symptoms, contact your medical practitioner.
